water pearls are easy to use. Take the pack of the water pearls and place the water pearls in a bowl or vase of water. 1 x 10g pack requires roughly 2 pints of water. Use more if in doubt. you will drain all the water in the end.
The water pearls are as small as sesame seeds when dyhydrated but once hydrated they expand up to 150% to the size of acorns.
water pearls have the look of marbles but offer much more.Their microscopic holes releases water to the plants when needed and
as a result plants grow more healthy. water pearls also cost a fraction of the cost of marble.
Water pearls are used to create the ideal flower arrangements or centre pieces. They are ideal for weddings, restuarants, shop decor and valentines day. water pearls also come handy for your floating candles and and home interiors. Water Pearls and PlantsWater Pearls is another name for Crystal Soil aka Water gel beads, crystal mud, or waterbeads.Water Pearls is a water absorbent polymer that is translucent, odourless, bio-degradable, 100% non-toxic, re-usable,stainless and environmentally friendly.
It has various uses including Floral and candle arrangements and can be used in the home, office or at events, weddings and other functions. It costs a fraction of the cost of marbles and comes in assorted colours. The different colours are derived from food dye. When soaked in water it can inflate to more than 100 times its original size.
Because water pearls come in assorted colours you can select the colours that match your home decoration such as your curtains, sofa, walls. Of course you need a clear vase or bowl. You can either use one colour, layer different colours or mix various colours together. One of my favourite combinations is when yellow is mixed with clear Crystals. What about Clear and Red layered on top of each other? It would certainly fit the motif of Christmas decorations. But water pearls are for everyday use and not just for christmas.
It helps to experiment with different colours and find the best colours that work for you.Its also amazing to see how these crystals grow from being as small as sesame seeds to the size of acorns.Dont stay up and watch it though as its like watching paint dry.
Water Pearls do not only come in different colours but also shapes. There are three main shapes most commonly used. The Pearls, which is probably the most popular, the cubes, and irregular crystals.
Water Pearls cost less than you think and are ideal gifts for friends and family. They not only provide aesthetics for your home interiors but are functional in supplying a steady stream of water to plants and cut flowers. You dont even have to water your plants as often. The steady stream of water ensures plants and flowers get water as and when they want it and not before and this results in healthy plants and cut flowers that last longer.

Tips on potting plants in crystal soilPlants do not need soil to grow as demonstrated through the practice of hydroculture and hydroponics. Crystal Soil is a form of hydroculture. Crystal soil is a water absorbent polymer that contains nutrients which when it absorbs water expands in size.
The gradual release of water from Crystal Soil to the plants ensures that plants drink water only when necessary and promotes vigorous growth. The over watering of plants kills plants and robs them of oxygen and if you under water plants they will not be able to transport nutrients and they will eventually die
It has therefore become common practice to pot plants in Crystal Soil because that is where indoor plants grow best. Even cut flowers last so much longer in Crystal Soil.
Steps on how to pot plants in Crystal Soil
1) Hydrate Crystal Soil in water for 6 to 8 hours. Drain excess water.
2) Gently remove Soil from the root of the plant being careful not to damage it.
3) Place plant underneath cold running water to get rid of mud, mildew and root rot.Use your hands if necessary to get rid of mud that sticks tightly to the roots and any dead leaves. Be sure not to damage the taproot.
4) Place the root of the plant in water for a couple of hours. This will ensure all the dirt and mud fall away.
5) By now the Crystal Soil will be hydrated. Get your vase, plant and crystal soil together.
6) Pot plant into your chosen vase while allowing plants root to stretch.Add Crystal Soil being sure to layer, mix or use a single colour as appropriate.Make sure crysal soil covers the root of the plant and that the plant is stable.
7) Plant is now ready to be placed on a mantel piece.

How to maintain Crystal Soil alias water PearlsI was once asked the question by a family friend on how one should take care of crystal soil aka water pearls. It then occured to me that what was common knowledge to me wasn’t common to all. And it wasnt just how to use water gel crystals that was important but how to ensure they last. Generally however, crystal soil will last over a year in both it’s hydrated and unhydrated state. I know friends who used it for over 18 months and even longer.
How to Pot Plants in Crystal SoilWhen deciding what plants to pot in crystal soil consider the conditions in which the particular plant thrives. While some plants prefer direct sunlight like herbs some plants do not. The plants that will thrive in crystal soil are generally indoor plants but specifically foilage plants that like humidity and shade.
The benefits of using Crystal Soil for your cut flowers and plantsFlowering plants need light, water and nutrients to grow and bloom. You supply a clear vase; Crystal Soil provides an excellent source of water and nutrients. Crystal Soil also known as Water Crystals is a new type of clean, environmentally friendly potting material that comes in an array of beautiful colors.
The many uses of Crystal SoilI was at Portobello market last week saturday. It was the first time i hired a table and thought to sell crystal soil in the market place. I was completely swarmed by people of all ages who wanted to buy the product and many others who had so many questions to ask. It’s amazing how few people have heard about it. At one particular time during the day i had a queue of over 60 people lining up to buy it. And in the end i sold over 600 x 10gram bags.Probably over 250 people bought crystal Soil from me that day, some buying as many as 4 different colours.
Why plants do not need Soil to growIt may surprise many of you to find out that plants do not need soil to grow. What plants primarily need to grow is air, water and nutrients. This means soil is not all what it is cracked up to be. Essentially the soil is just a medium for holding up the plants and allowing the roots to pull nutrients through the water.
