Water Crystals – Go Green with indoor plants
Posted on February 7th, 2010 No commentsLooking for a simple way to go green then get some indoor house plants and Water crystals. When indoor plants breath they take in air pollution and pass them through their roots thereby improving air quality in your room.In addition to indoor plants you will need water crystals. Water Crystals are super absorbent polymer that can be used as a soil substitute in place of water and soil and whats more it’s aesthetic as it comes in a range of colours and environmentally friendly.Other characteristics of water crystals are it’s non-toxic, biodegradable, reusable and odourless.
Typically when you pot plants in a flowering pot the mud used attracts bugs, flys and could become a breeding ground for mosquitoes as well as good and bad bacteria. The bad bacteria is bad for plants and causes plant diseases. Therefore if you want dirt free, odourless,non-toxic cultivation, water crystals is your answer.
Water as we know is good for plants but like fire it is a good friend and a bad enemy. If you add too much water you starve the plant of oxygen and if you add too little you weaken the plant. Furthermore water left to stand in a vase or pot becomes stale and fouls the air and you defeat the purpose of having indoor plants.
Water Crystals on the other hand absorb the water during hydration and releases it when required by the plant. You can also add fertiliser during hydration and the water crystals will release both feed and water.
The complete solution for going green with your house plants is to use water crystals because of their many advantages. The combination of indoor plants and water crystals is all what going green is all about.
The most suitable plants to grow in water crystals are plants that like humidity indirect sunshine. This is typical of many indoor plants.
